Signal by Simon Tegla

19 June, 7pm at the Prince Charles Cinema, £5 – £7.50.

Organised by Artprojx and James Putnam, Simon Tegala’s latest film will be screened at the Prince Charles next week. Tegala worked with immunologist Dr Kevin Rigley to map the workings of the human immune system onto the architecture of the British Museum.

Simon Tegala has created several projects around the mechanics of the human body in his past work. For the ‘Making Faces’ exhibition supported by the Wellcome Trust in 2006, he created a digital 3D model of his brain from MRI scans, then constructed a glass model of his brain as a modern day self portrait. With ‘Anabiosis’ (the medical term for revival after apparent death), Tegala’s heart was monitored over a two week period, the data was then transmitted digitally to an electronic sign in London, using technology developed for the athletics industry.

The screening of ‘Signal’ includes a live set by Bender and talk by Dr Kevin Rigley. See Artprojx for more information.
